AESAONE is overcoming them and is ready for its much anticipated first annual soccer tournament. So what do we have in store for you? AESAONE’s first ever Sports tournament will be held at RFK Stadium in Washington DC from July 1st to July 7th.

AESAONE is a non-political, non-ethnic and non-religious organization. Our guests of honor are the 1962 Ethiopian National Team who won the only African cup for Ethiopia. Ethiopian football giants that were part of the 1962 Ethiopian National team such as Luciano Vassalo, Italo Vassalo, GhilaMichael TesfaMariam, Kiflom Araya, Berhe Goitom, Kidane TekleHaimanot, Haile TesfaGhabr, Negassie GebreMicheal and Awad Mohammed will be there. Those members such as Mengistu Worku who are no longer with us will be honored posthumously. There will be twenty seven teams participating. AESAONE provides full insurance for its players and covers their transportation costs and Hotel accommodations.

Artists such as Hamelmal Abate, Madingo Afework, Abegaz Shiota, Henock Temesgen, Abraham Gebremedhin, Johnny Raga, Tadele Gemechu, Tadele Roba, Mesfin Aweke, Hana Shenkute, Kuribachew W/Mariam, Elsabet Tesfaye, and Iniye Takele will perform. In addition, AESAONE has organized a 5K race honoring Abebe Bekila as well as a basketball tournament. Through our sponsors, AESAONE has secured a three year contract and will host its next three tournaments at RFK Stadium. Our sponsors have supported diaspora soccer for many years and will continue to support AESAONE without any reservations. Despite of it all, AESAONE is moving forward. See you in Washington, DC.
